Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has been linked with a move to Chelsea, according to Sport Witness (via the Mirror).

Per-the-source, the Brazil international’s agent has hinted that his client may join David Luiz at Stamford Bridge. The Mirror says that Silva watched Luiz return to Chelsea over the summer may be tempted to make the move himself.

Silva – who scored the header which knocked Chelsea out of the UEFA Champions League back in 2015 – will be out of contract at the end of the season meaning he is free to hold talks with the Blues in January.

“Chelsea are a big club. And the English league is the best in the world,” Silva’s agen Paulo Tonietto told Sport Witness.

“We’re not negotiating a new contract, let’s see what happens before December.

“Thiago’s deal ends on June 30, 2017 if PSG don’t qualify for the Champions League. Everything is possible in football.”

PSG have racked up four Ligue one titles in a row however, the Parisian side have had a turbulent start to the season under their newly appointed manager Unai Emery.

Chelsea meanwhile retuned to winning ways last weekend with a 2-0 win over the newly promoted Hull City. Antonio Conte’s side take on the reigning Premier League champions Leicester City next weekend.
