Manchester United supporters were left delighted as the rare sight of Bastian Schweinsteiger training with the first team was seen on Monday.
The German international has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho since the Portuguese tactician’s arrival at the club in the summer, and has been forced to train away from his senior team-mates.
Reports over the weekend even suggested that he was blocked from playing for the Under-23s side, but it was all smiles on Monday as he was seen training with the rest of the first-team squad.

Whether or not it leads to a recall for a match day squad remains to be seen, but given what he’s been through in recent months, it will probably just be a relief for Schweinsteiger to be involved again.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was also spotted in the images shared on the club’s official Twitter page, and judging from the reaction below, it’s fair to say that United supporters are delighted to have them both back in the mix even though it’s still too early to suggest that Mourinho is set to hand them bigger roles.
