Arsenal could suffer badly if injured star misses North London Derby

The Sun have reported that Hector Bellerin is a “HUGE” doubt for this Sunday’s North London Derby after picking up a training ground injury.

The Spanish full back has not traveled to Bulgaria with the rest of the team for the Gunners’ Champions League tie tonight, and is resting in the hope of being ready to face Spurs at the weekend.

This latest update implies that the outlook is not good for Bellerin, whose attacking threat has been instrumental for Arsenal this season.

Carl Jenkinson, who has himself just returned from a long injury layoff, looks the most likely replacement for Bellerin tonight, with Rob Holding playing out of position also an option.

That should be enough against Ludogorets, but a reserve right back might have more problems against Tottenham’s pacy and aggressive side.

Arsene Wenger described Bellerin’s injury as “a little incident”, fans of the Gunners will be praying that that turns out to be an accurate description. Missing him this weekend would be a big blow.
