Arsenal have been hit by injury fears over defender Hector Bellerin after Spanish site AS revealed he was not fit enough to represent Spain U21’s.
Bellerin was included in the Spain U21 squad ahead of their clash with Austria U21’s, but AS report that the 21-year-old was not involved in full training and is unlikely to be ready for the game.
This will no doubt come as a worry to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, as Bellerin has emerged as a key member of his defence in the past two seasons.
Running down the right-hand-side for the Gunners, he has been a constant threat offensively as well as being unusually dependable at the back for a player of his young age.
His performances earned him a senior cap for his country in May against Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was also included in former manager Vicente Del Bosque’s final squad for the European Championships, though didn’t make an appearance in the competition.
