Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is set to reject interest from West Ham in the January transfer window, report the Daily Star.
The Daily Star report that the Blues are looking to send Fabregas out on loan in the winter window, with West Ham said to be interested. However, they note that the Spaniard would only leave Stamford Bridge for a top European club.
Fabregas has fallen majorly out of favour since Antonio Conte took the reigns at Chelsea. The 29-year-old has struggled for form and fitness this campaign, and the midfield duo of Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante are undroppable on current form.
Conte’s side have won five Premier League games in a row, scoring 16 times and conceding zero. They say you should never change a winning side, and that idea couldn’t be more relevant with Chelsea’s current form.
Chelsea’s gain is turning out to be Fabregas’ loss, he is being starved of opportunities. The Daily Star also report that he was close to joining AC Milan in the summer before the move fell through. It is looking increasingly certain that Chelsea want rid of him, but West Ham does not look to be a viable option for him.
