Man United vs West Ham confirmed starting lineups: Mkhitaryan starts as Mourinho names an unusually attacking side

Manchester United host West Ham at Old Trafford this evening as both sides bid to progress into the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

The EFL Cup is not seen as a priority by some, but neither managers are pulling any punches tonight with the teams that they have fielded.

Jose Mourinho will serve a one-match touchline ban this evening after being charged with improper conduct by the FA. He has named an unusually attacking starting team for a manager who is renown for adopting a more pragmatic approach.

Henrikh Mhkitaryan starts as his United exile appears to be coming to an end. Wayne Rooney, who is one goal away from equalling Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal-scoring record, starts at number ten behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Slaven Bilic has also named a full strength side this evening, with 21-year-old Ashley Fletcher leading the line against his former club.

Manchester United starting XI: De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Shaw, Carrick Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Rooney, Martial, Ibrahimovic

West Ham starting XI: Adrian, Ogbonna, Reid, Kouyate, Cresswell, Feghouli, Obiang, Fernandes, Payet, Antonio, Fletcher
