Liverpool face major concern as European heavyweights line up and add £25m man to transfer shortlist

Liverpool are on red alert as it’s been claimed that Juventus and Barcelona have joined Paris Saint-Germain in showing an interest in Adam Lallana.

The England international is enjoying a stellar campaign so far this year, with seven goals and seven assists in 18 Premier League appearances as he continues to stand out as one of Liverpool’s top performers.

However, with that comes the risk of attracting the attention of other clubs, with The Times reporting that Juve and Barca are now keen to sign the 28-year-old along with PSG.

Lallana has two years remaining on his contract and so Liverpool are in no immediate danger of losing their prized asset, but it will certainly cause them concern to know that big clubs from around Europe are lining up to potentially test their resolve.

Nevertheless, the former Southampton star, who moved to Anfield in a £25m deal in 2014 as noted in the report, isn’t the first choice option for either Barca or Juve, with the Spanish giants keen on Philippe Coutinho while Juve want Alexis Sanchez.

Should they fail then perhaps he will become a priority, but Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to avoid losing any of his top players as Liverpool continue to battle for the Premier League title this season.

Having seen the likes of Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez leave in recent years in big-money deals, there will be concern that others might follow, particularly if the Reds fall short in their pursuit of silverware.

However, with Klopp at the helm and excitement over what can be achieved with this current group under his watchful eye, it’s unlikely that any of his big-name stars will be pushing for an exit regardless of who might be interested.
