Eibar 1-4 Real Madrid player ratings: Rodriguez and Benzema get 9s as Los Blancos extend their lead at the top

Real Madrid defeated Eibar 4-1 to keep their momentum going in the title race.

Karim Benzema fired Real Madrid into the lead after fifteen minutes. The French international found the back of the net after his initial effort was saved by Eibar goalkeeper Yoel.

Ten minutes later, Benzema bagged his second of the game. James Rodriguez swung the ball into the penalty area from a free-kick and Benzema was on hand to double his side’s lead. Both goals were a result of poor defending from Eibar.

After his earlier assist, James appeared eager to get on the score-sheet himself. This time roles reversed and Benzema turned provider, the Frenchman fired in a low cross, which was fired home by James.

Real Madrid were not done there, however, Marco Asensio was next to find the back of the net. James fired towards goal from the edge of the box, his effort cannoned off the post and into Asensio’s path. The Spaniard made no mistake, making it four.

Eibar bagged a late consolation goal through Pena, but it proved too little to late and it’s Real Madrid who will be taking home all three points. Here are our player ratings for both sides:
