Chelsea vs Southampton starting lineups: Cesc Fabregas starts for the Blues, Oriol Romeu returns to face former side

Chelsea host Southampton at Stamford Bridge this evening as they look to continue their title-charge.

The Blues stumbled at Old Trafford, falling to a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United. However, their 2-0 defeat over Tottenham at Wembley appeared to be a turning point for Antonio Conte’s side.

They face a stern test tonight, however, Chelsea have won just one of their previous eight meetings with the Saints at the Bridge. They have proved to be a real bogey team for the Premier League leaders in recent seasons.

Southampton have also had ten days rest, whereas Chelsea were involved in a strongly contested game with Spurs at the weekend. Eden Hazard and Diego Costa were both rested for that fixture – they both start tonight.

Cesc Fabregas is also recalled to the starting side, with both Willian and Pedro dropping to the bench. Former Blue Oriol Romeu returns for the Saints after serving a two-match suspension.

Here are how both sides line up in full:

Chelsea starting eleven: Courtois; Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill (c); Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso; Fabregas, Diego Costa, Hazard.

Southampton starting eleven: Forster, Cédric, Stephens, Yoshida, Bertrand, Romeu, Davis (c), Ward-Prowse, Tadi?, Boufal, Gabbiadini.
