Newly-promoted Newcastle set to miss out on deal for Spain winger

New Premier League side Newcastle are reportedly set to miss out on a deal to bring former Man City winger Jesus Navas to the club, as the Spaniard is in talks with his former club Sevilla about a return to the La Liga side, according to TalkSport.

Newcastle were eager to help the winger remain in the Premier League, as per TalkSport, as the player left former employers Man City at the end of last season follow his contract with the club expiring.

As reported by TalkSport, Sevilla, who finished fourth in La Liga last year, are ready to offering Navas a deal with the club he made 285 league appearances for between 2003 and 2013.

Should Newcastle manage to secure the signing of Navas ahead of Spanish giants Sevilla, it’ll be a big statement made by the club, as Rafa Benitez aims to strengthen his side in order to avoid relegation back to the Championship next season.
