Chelsea are facing a race against time to secure deals for Premier League trio Danny Drinkwater, Fernando Llorente and Ross Barkley as the Blues look to satisfy boss Antonio Conte before today’s 11pm transfer deadline, according to the Telegraph.
Despite the fact that the Blues are closing in on a £15M deal for Swansea forward Fernando Llorente, which would satisfy the Chelsea boss, the west London side have still missed out to Liverpool in the race to sign England star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and are yet to agree fees for Premier League duo Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley with just 14 hours left in the transfer window as per the Telegraph.
Chelsea were left frustrated are missing out on Arsenal’s Oxlade-Chamberlain whilst Ronald Koeman’s Everton have rejected a bid from the Blues as they seek a £35M transfer fee for the England star as reported by the Telegraph. Conte’s side have also had two bids for Leicester man Danny Drinkwater turned down, with the Foxes holding out for £35M for the midfielder despite the player handing in a transfer request at the King Power.
Chelsea remains in talks with Everton over a potential deal for Barkley, however rivals Spurs are also keen on the midfielder, with there also being the possibility of him staying at Goodison Park this season should the Toffees fail to lower their asking price report the Telegraph.
Should Chelsea manage to get deals for all three main targets over the line before tonight’s deadline, it’ll come as a big boost for the Blues as they look to retain their Premier League title this season.
