It’s fair to say that the appointment of David Moyes as the new West Ham United manager hasn’t gone down particularly well with fans of the Hammers.
While rival supporters also took the opportunity to have a dig, it’s not the most inspiring of choices given the Scottish tactician’s struggles in more recent years.
After impressing at Preston North End and Everton, things have gone steadily downhill for Moyes since taking over at Manchester United in 2013, as he has suffered with disappointing spells at Real Sociedad and Sunderland since, failing to keep the latter up last season.
In turn, it’s no surprise that there’s been a negative reaction on the whole to his arrival at the London Stadium, with the Hammers turning to him after splitting with Slaven Bilic this week.
As they sit in 18th place in the Premier League table, with just nine points from 11 games so far this season, a change was arguably needed.
However, this wasn’t one of the top choices for many fans it seems based on the comments below, with many fearing the worst already about their chances of staying up this season.
There’s still a long way to go and perhaps they’re being slightly harsh on Moyes as he could find the right fit at West Ham and be a success again, but the proof will come in results after the international break as he’s unlikely to get too much patience from the stands.

The club has No ambition, the chairmen need to look at their own position at the Club with the view of seeking new owners for our great Club

Diabolical decision – the guy is out of touch (as are the board). Relegated with Sunderland and sacked from two previous jobs. #MoyesOut
