Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is reportedly a big fan of Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and has told his club to try a transfer.
This comes as something of a surprise given that the England international isn’t generally regarded as one of the finest midfielders in Europe, even if he is a solid and consistent performer at Premier League level.
Henderson has also had a fine World Cup for England this summer and it may be that kind of form that has persuaded Pique to urge Barca to take a chance on him, as per a report from Don Balon.
The Spain international is likely to be something of an influential figure at the Nou Camp given his experience and pedigree, but it remains to be seen if the Catalan giants will take this advice.
Don Balon suggest Henderson would likely cost around £35m, which doesn’t seem too bad for a hard-working, battling player with enough quality on the ball to be a useful squad player for the club.
However, it is hard to imagine he’d be much more than that given the calibre of player Barcelona tend to have in that area.
