Man City are closing in on their first signing of the summer in the form of Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, with the player set to undergo a medical with the Premier League champions in the next two days.
This is according to the Daily Mail, who are stating that Pep Guardiola’s have agreed a £60M deal for the Algerian winger, and that the player is to finalise his move to the Etihad in the days after his medical has been completed.
The news outlet are also stating that the club, and Guardiola, have been a long-term fan of the player, so it finally seems as if the Premier League champions have got their hands on their man.
Mahrez has been a fantastic player for the Foxes these past few seasons, with the Algerian playing a huge part in their surprise 2015/16 Premier League title winning campaign.
The midfielder also played a big part in his side’s run in the Champions League int he 2016/17 season, with Leicester going all the way to the quarter finals, where they eventually went out against Atletico Madrid.
City were absolutely sensational this past season under Guardiola, with the club managing to break a whole host of records on their way to winning their third Premier League title.
A lot of fans of rival teams won’t be wanting to see City sign Mahrez, as it’ll only boost the Citizen’s chances of retaining their title next season should Mahrez be in their side.
