Man City in pole position to beat Real Madrid to €150m transfer as Guardiola bids to fight off Man Utd & Liverpool challenge

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to pay more money than Real Madrid to seal the ambitious transfer of Chelsea forward Eden Hazard this summer.

According to Don Balon, Pep Guardiola believes Hazard could be an ideal signing and that now may be the best time to move for him after Chelsea’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

The Belgium international is one of the best attackers in the world and would be a tremendous loss for Chelsea, who have relied heavily on him as one of their most important players for a number of years now.

Hazard could also be a superb fit at City, who play the kind of football he’d settle into with ease, while they’d likely also provide him with a better opportunity to win major honours and perhaps even challenge for the Ballon d’Or.

Don Balon claim City are ready to pay €150million for Hazard, more than Real Madrid, with Guardiola desperate to see his side strengthen in order to stave off the challenge of the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool next season.

Both sides have strengthened well this summer, with Liverpool in particular building an exciting team and already improving on a squad that dazzled on their way to the Champions League final last season, where they were pretty unlucky to lose to Real Madrid.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard would be a superb signing for Manchester City

Hazard’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium would certainly be quite a statement and go some way to ensuring City remain favourites to retain the title in 2018/19.
