Arsenal have continued their summer signing spree this morning, after the club announced that French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has joined the club from Lorient.

As reported by the club’s official website, the 19-year-old has signed with the north London club, with it also being stated that the player will don the number 29 shirt at the Emirates.

The youngster has become the Gunners’ fifth signing of the summer, with the French international joining the likes of Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who have all secured moves to the club this summer as per Sky Sports

Young Guendouzi came through PSG’s youth academy before moving to Lorient, where he’s managed to cement a place in their first team this past season.

The midfielder managed to clock up a total of 21 appearances in all competitions for the French minnows as he helped the club secure a top six finish in Ligue 2.

Arsenal fans probably shouldn’t expect the France youth international to stake a starting place in their club’s side any time soon, however it definitely seems like Guendouzi is one for the future at the Emirates.

It’s seems Unai Emery’s side is definitely taking place ahead of next season as he looks to propel the Gunners back into the Champions League.
