Man Utd ace tipped to seal exit in next 48 hours as clubs rush to secure deal

Man Utd are reportedly on course to reach a deal with Ajax over the return of Daley Blind, four years after his switch from the Dutch giants.

The 28-year-old has made 141 appearances for the Red Devils, winning an FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League trophy during his time with the Premier League giants.

In turn, it can be considered a successful stint to an extent, but with his presence and influence in the line-up gradually waning over the last three seasons, he is said to be close to securing a return to Ajax.

According to De Telegraaf, developments in his exit from Old Trafford are expected in the next 48 hours as Ajax are said to want it sorted before their Champions League commitments start and before the Man Utd squad fly out for their pre-season tour.

With that in mind, it remains to be seen if a transfer can be wrapped up in time, as it would seemingly be beneficial to all parties concerned to get the deal done quickly and avoid it dragging on.

After making 56 appearances in the 2015/16 campaign, Blind featured in 39 games the following year before making just 17 outings last season with fitness and competition for places raising question marks over his playing time under Jose Mourinho.

Man Utd certainly have plenty of options in defence with Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo capable of playing on the left side, and despite his useful versatility to perhaps play in a more advanced role, it seems as though Blind may well be bound for the exit door to draw a close to his spell in Manchester.
