France returned home as World Cup winners on Monday, and the celebrations were in full flow thanks to Manchester United ace Paul Pogba.
Didier Deschamps and his men saw off Croatia in Sunday’s final as their 4-2 win meant that they secured their second World Cup triumph, 20 years on from winning it on home soil.
In turn, it was a memorable moment for the players and staff involved as they were greeted by thousands of supporters while they celebrated with the trophy on the open-top bus before stepping off and posing for photos at the presidential palace.
As seen in the videos below, despite playing a fundamental role himself in France’s success this summer, Pogba was keen to see others enjoy the limelight as he led a chorus of the Kante chant as well as getting his teammates to have fun with Stephen N’Zonzi too.
The 25-year-old was heavily criticised last season as he struggled to play at his best on a consistent basis for United. Perhaps having played a starring role for France this summer, it could be the platform that he needed to mature and develop into a leader for Jose Mourinho’s side too moving forward.
For now though, it’s pretty clear Pogba knows how to lead the celebrations and he also showed a selfless side of him too with Kante deservedly gaining some attention…
