Chelsea eyeing bargain transfer of Man City star as possible replacement for key Blues ace

Chelsea are weighing up a move for Man City and England shot-stopper Joe Hart, with the Blues eyeing him as a possible replacement for Thibaut Courtois.

The 31-year-old has had an awful time these last few years, with Hart failing to hold down a first team place with both City and West Ham.

However now it seems like the west London side could offer him an escape route, with the Sun stating that they are eyeing him up as a possible replacement for Courtois, who they state is a target for Real Madrid.

The same report is also stating that the swoop is set to be worth £5M, an absolute bargain of price considering just how good Hart can be.

Hart is reportedly in the frame to replace Courtois should the Belgian depart Stamford Bridge.

Hart has been in the cold at Man City since the arrival of Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, with the player being replaced by both Claudio Bravo and Ederson in City’s side since the Spaniard joined the club.

Since 2016, Hart has had loan spells with both West Ham and Torino, with the Englishman failing to impress at either side.

Before Guardiola joined City, Hart was the club’s first choice ‘keeper, making 347 appearances since he arrived at the club from Shrewsbury in 2006.

If Chelsea do end up swooping for Hart, £5M would be an absolute steal for a player of his quality, as despite his troubles in the past few years, it’s still apparent just how good the Three Lions star can be.

The Blues would be bagging a fine deal for a player who has been one of the league’s best since he made his debut in 2007.
