Champions League giants launch third bid for Chelsea star who’s itching for transfer

Barcelona have reportedly launched a third bid to seal the transfer of Chelsea winger Willian after plenty of speculation over his future this summer.

This is a breaking report from Sky Sports, with not much more information available at the moment other than the fact that it’s the Catalan giants’ third offer for the player and it’s worth around £55million.

Sky Sports reporter Hush Kerai has tweeted about the story, with more information soon to follow.

This follows previous rumours of Willian leaving Chelsea for Barca this summer, with the Sun recently claiming the 29-year-old was still desperate to move on despite Maurizio Sarri replacing Antonio Conte as manager.

Willian notably edited Conte out of his FA Cup final celebration photo on Instagram, so it may be that he’s been unhappy at Stamford Bridge for some time.

With the Blues out of the Champions League next season, there’s no doubt a move to the Nou Camp would be seen by most as a major step up.

At his age as well, this might be Willian’s last chance for a big move and one final big contract before retirement.

Chelsea, however, will surely do all they can to avoid losing such an important player as they also face so much doubt over two other stars at the moment.

As noted by that Sun report, Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois also look to be considering their futures this summer.

The same report also claims Willian has been chatting with Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho about a move to the club, with the pair spending plenty of time together due to being on World Cup duty with Brazil in the summer.
