Chelsea fans got their first glimpse of summer signing Jorginho in action on Monday, and based on the reaction below, it’s fair to say that many of them are impressed.
The Blues secured a 1-0 win over Perth Glory as they step up their pre-season preparations this week, with Pedro’s early effort separating the two sides.

However, these run-outs are going to be key for new boss Maurizio Sarri as he looks to implement his style of play and formulate his opinions on individuals ahead of the new campaign with time running out in the transfer window.
Further, it will be an opportunity for familiar and new faces alike to impress, and Jorginho seemingly did just that after his summer arrival from Napoli, as per BBC Sport, as he put in a classy 45-minute performance with the statistic below showcasing exactly what he’s going to bring to Chelsea.
As seen with Napoli and to an extent with Italy, the midfield maestro is more than capable of dictating the tempo of the game and dominating possession to set his side up and build attacks. With 101 touches and 98 made passes in just one half of football, it looks as though he’s going to waste little time in having his influence on the Chelsea team.
Naturally, there will be tougher tests to come, but the Italian ace certainly made a positive first impression on the supporters below with many labelling his signing and the player himself a ‘genius’.
Sarri knows the 26-year-old very well having worked with him closely at Napoli for the past three years. It looks as though Jorginho will be a pillar of his plans at Chelsea now too…

And didn’t it feel good to actually watch a side enjoy having the ball instead of retreating to park the bus and suffer? We may not win every trophy this season but it’s going to be a fun ride watching Jorginho control the entire league with his effortless genius. #Sarriball

Jorginho averaged a pass every 27.55 seconds on his Chelsea debut. I honestly have no words, speechless.
