Sergio Ramos unimpressed by Real Madrid chief’s secret €70million transfer talks

Sergio Ramos has reportedly been left unimpressed by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez’s secret talks to try to seal the transfer of Christian Pulisic.

A report from Spanish outlet Diario Gol suggests Ramos has found out about ‘secret’ moves by Perez to sign Pulisic for around €70million from Borussia Dortmund this summer, possibly as an alternative to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

A deal to sign Hazard may have gone cold, say Diario Gol, meaning Madrid have had to look at alternatives as they surely need a big-name signing in attack this summer to replace Cristiano Ronaldo after his departure to Juventus.

Pulisic is regarded as a top young talent but remains inexperienced and relatively unproven, meaning it may be too soon for him to take on a challenge as big as replacing Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.

The Daily Mail have also linked the 19-year-old with Real, as well as with other big clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

It remains to be seen how this transfer saga will pan out, but it may take more from Perez to impress Ramos and others in what looks a crucial transfer window for the club.

Despite another Champions League win last season, Zinedine Zidane’s side finished third in La Liga – some way behind champions Barcelona.

Losing Ronaldo makes catching their rivals considerably harder, so it’s vital they can secure some signings to show they mean business ahead of the new season.

For all Pulisic’s talent, it’s little wonder Ramos reportedly has his reservations about signing the USA international.
