Real Madrid are reportedly setting their sights on Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani to potentially replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Los Blancos lost their talisman earlier this summer after his move to Juventus was confirmed, and given that the Portuguese superstar was such an influential figure in their trophy haul in recent years, it will be a major blow for them.

Coupled with the coaching change which sees Julen Lopetegui trying to replicate what Zinedine Zidane achieved in the Bernabeu hotseat, it could prove to be a difficult transitional period for the Spanish giants.
Signing a striker capable of guaranteeing them goals could be a huge boost for all concerned though, and according to AS, Cavani has emerged as a possible candidate while it’s added that he would be keen on a move to the Spanish capital.
The Uruguayan international turns 32 next year and so perhaps that should be considered as a key factor in any potential bid, but his scoring record is second to none.
Having initially found his prolific touch with Napoli after bagging 104 goals in 138 games for the Italian outfit, he has gone on to score 170 goals in 245 games for PSG since moving to France in 2013 to take his career total to an impressive 323 goals.
Naturally, that has played a fundamental part in their success, and so with that in mind, he could be the striker needed at Real Madrid to ensure that they remain a clinical outfit with his pace and movement also perhaps suiting their counter-attacking style of play perfectly.
With the likes of Gareth Bale, Isco, Marco Asensio and others around him to help create chances, it could be the ideal addition as far as the reigning European champions are concerned moving into the post-Ronaldo era.
