Manchester United look likely to make something of a transfer U-turn regarding Anthony Martial this summer as they struggle to land replacements.
According to the Daily Mirror, deals to sign Willian from Chelsea and Ivan Perisic look to have stalled, meaning Martial now looks increasingly likely to stay at Old Trafford.
The report claims a swap deal had been mooted involving Willian and Martial, though it’s also suggested United would rather not sell the France international to a Premier League rival.

On top of that, however, the Mirror add that United’s £80million valuation of the 22-year-old has put major foreign clubs off making their move.
Only recently the Manchester Evening News suggested Jose Mourinho was losing patience with Martial after his absence during pre-season to be with his baby son.
This was the latest row in what has appeared from the outside to be a difficult relationship between the pair, with Martial not featuring regularly last season.
This led to his agent telling RMC earlier this summer that his client wanted out of the club, while the MEN’s report a few days ago suggested Mourinho was increasingly open to the player’s exit.
The Mirror now seem to suggest this is looking unlikely for this summer, in what will be an intriguing development for the Red Devils forward.
Martial clearly has huge potential and has shown it in flashes during his time in Manchester so far, even if he’s failed to find enough consistency or look an ideal fit in Mourinho’s system.
He remains popular with United fans, however, so they’ll now hope this can be the end of the saga and that he can really kick on this season.
