Anthony Martial Chelsea transfer speculation is now surely set to intensify as reports claim the Manchester United forward has been left out of the club’s squad to take on Bayern Munich today.
The Red Devils play Bayern in a friendly this evening, but Martial is not set to be involved, according to the Sun.
This follows the Daily Mirror talking up the chances of a swap deal involving Martial moving to Chelsea and Willian heading in the opposite direction with a move to Old Trafford.
It’s certainly not looking too good for United fans, many of whom adore Martial as he’s become something of a cult hero at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, the 22-year-old has never really seemed to impress manager Jose Mourinho, being shifted out wide and often simply not starting games at all.
Martial may well feel a departure from United is now the best option, and playing under the more attack-minded Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri looks a tempting move for any young forward player.
The former Monaco man’s agent did tell RMC Sport earlier this summer that his client wanted to leave.
