Real Madrid are said to be ready to launch a €110M move to bring Lazio and Serbia midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to the Spanish capital this summer.
This is according to Don Balon, who are reporting that the club are eyeing up a move for the midfielder in order to bolster their options in the centre of the park for this season.
The report also notes that a deal for the player will be €100M up front, with the other €10M being added on in variables.
With Luka Modric and Toni Kroos soon to be approaching the twilight years of their careers, it seems like a smart idea for Real to try and bring one of Europe’s best midfielders in Milinkovic-Savic to the club this summer.
The Serbian international truly burst onto the scene for Lazio last year, as he scored 14 and assisted eight as his side narrowly missed out on qualification for this season’s Champions League.
The 23-year-old was one of the best midfielders in Serie A last season, so it’s no surprise to see Julen Lopetegui’s side being willing to fork out this much for him.
All that remains now is to see whether the club are actually going to make a concrete offer for Milinkovic-Savic and seriously bolster their options in the middle of the pitch for the season ahead.
