Paul Pogba’s cryptic Instagram post after influential display in Man Utd win

Handed the captain’s armband, Paul Pogba produced an impressive performance as Man Utd secured a 2-1 win over Leicester City in their Premier League season opener.

Despite only returning to training earlier this week after being given additional time off after his World Cup exploits this summer, the Frenchman made his presence felt immediately on Friday night.

From his early penalty to break the deadlock to his overall commanding display in midfield, Pogba will be pleased with how he opened his account this season but has seemingly raised eyebrows with his post-match Instagram post.

“I’ll always give my best to the fans and my teammates no matter what’s going on,” his caption read.

Having failed to elaborate on what he meant by “no matter what’s going on”, it will naturally lead to question marks over whether or not he’s hinting at troubles behind the scenes.

Perhaps that could be personal and it’s an innocent comment, but as noted by The Express, it has been claimed that he wants a move to Barcelona and so perhaps uncertainty over his future could be another explanation for his comment.

Given that the transfer window is now closed for English clubs to make signings, it would be non-sensical for Man Utd to even entertain the idea of letting Pogba leave, should he wish to, as they won’t be able to sign a replacement until January at the earliest.

In turn, whether it was regarding his future or not, Pogba will undoubtedly spark additional discussion over his happiness in Manchester and what is actually happening off the pitch.
