Sergio Ramos knows that Real Madrid are keen on bringing RB Leipzig and Germany forward Timo Werner to the club this summer.
This is according to Don Balon, who note that young forward’s price tag wouldn’t set Los Blancos back a huge amount, and that the club are keeping a close eye on the Bundesliga star.
Signing Werner would be a great move for Real, as not only would they be getting their hands on one of Europe’s top strikers, but they’d also be bringing in a long-term replacement for current first choice forward Karim Benzema.
The 22-year-old has been on fire since emerging onto the scene for Leipzig last summer, with the forward often banging in goals for fun for the Bundesliga outfit.
Werner has managed to score 42 times and assist 17 times in 77 appearances for the German side since his arrival in the summer of 2016.
His goals in his first season with the club played a crucial part in Leipzig managing to secure a second-placed finish behind eventually winners Bayern Munich.
Karim Benzema has been severely out-of-form for Real these past few years, with his displays last season showing that the Frenchman is declining at a rapid pace.
The former Lyon star only bagged five goals in 32 La Liga appearances as Real stumbled to a third-placed finish.
Getting in Werner would be a great move from Real, now all that remains to be seen is whether the club can snag a deal for the German before this month’s transfer deadline.
