Signing ‘in place’: Barcelona squad ‘excited’ as club convinced Manchester United star is on his way in future transfer

Barcelona are reportedly convinced they have the groundwork in place to seal a future transfer deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The France international could be on his way to the Nou Camp in a similar way that Philippe Coutinho wound up there from Liverpool last season, with the signing in place for either January or next summer, according to Sport.

It has been a difficult time for Pogba at United under Jose Mourinho, with the pair looking far from an ideal fit in terms of playing style and philosophies.

Pogba has shone at previous club Juventus and for the French national team in a role with more attacking freedom, which he hasn’t really been given in this rather cautious and conservative Red Devils side.

It makes sense then that Sport claim Pogba wants out of Old Trafford and that he did ‘everything’ he could to force a move this summer.

The report also states the Barcelona dressing room are excited about the prospect of the 25-year-old’s arrival, in what looks an ideal signing for them to replace some big names in midfield.

In the last few years Barca have seen two legends in Xavi and Andres Iniesta leave the club and leave a gaping hole in the middle of the park.

Pogba, while not exactly in their league, is a similarly creative player who could do a job for the Catalan giants for many years to come.
