Barcelona set to include Philippe Coutinho in €250M deal to sign world class forward

Barcelona are reportedly set to include Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho in a €250M deal to bring PSG and France sensation Kylian Mbappe to the Nou Camp.

Coutinho has somewhat struggled for game time with Barca so far this season, with the Brazilian often being left on the substitutes bench by Ernesto Valverde for a number of the Blaugrana’s games.

And it looks like the former Liverpool man is set to be offered a way out of the Nou Camp if this report from Diario Gol is to be believed.

The report from the news outlet states that Mbappe is a target for the Spanish giants to replace either Luis Suarez or Lionel Messi’s presence in their side, and that to pry him away from PSG, the club plan to offer Coutinho paired with a €130M fee.

The report also adds that Coutinho is valued at around €120M, thus making the total amount of this offer €250M, and that the midfielder’s arrival at PSG would make it easier for the French giants to keep ahold of Neymar.

Mbappe is one of, if not the, most promising attackers in world football, and there aren’t many prospects out there who would be a better option for Barca to sign than the 20-year-old.

Barca look ready to push the boat out in order to bring Mbappe to the Nou Camp

Signing Mbappe would ease the pain of Barca losing both Suarez and Mess in the not-too-distant future, however getting rid of Coutinho in order to sign the forward may not be the smartest move the Blaugrana can make.

The 26-year-old isn’t having the best campaign of his career this season, however that shouldn’t deter from the fact that Coutinho could easily become Barca’s main man in the near future once Messi decides to call time on his stint at the Nou Camp.

If Barcelona do decide to go through with this move and actually pull it off, it’ll be interesting to see if it was the right decision to make in a few years time…
