Manchester United are reportedly ready to fork out as much as £70million for the transfer of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen amid doubts over David de Gea’s future.

The Red Devils could really do without losing such a world class player, but it seems they have a top class replacement in mind if De Gea does end up leaving.

According to Don Balon, that man is Barcelona star Ter Stegen, with MUFC ready to pay as much as £70m to prise him away from the Catalan giants.

The Germany international has been a top performer for Barca down the years, and is arguably one of few players who could realistically come in and ensure De Gea isn’t too badly missed at United.

Still, it remains to be seen if Barcelona could realistically be persuaded to sell a key player of their own.
