Manager increasingly tipped to take job at Chelsea instead of Manchester United

Zinedine Zidane is being increasingly tipped to replace Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea manager instead of winding up at Manchester United.

Ladbrokes have been in touch to say the former Real Madrid boss is now just 7/4 to take over the Blues, a significant shift in his odds.

Given Sarri’s struggles at the moment, it’s little surprise to see speculation like this hotting up, with Zidane somewhat surprisingly still available despite plenty of links with new jobs since he left Real Madrid at the end of last season.

A couple of months ago the Mirror were among the outlets strongly linking the Frenchman with Man Utd, but a report from the Sun has since talked him up as a candidate for Chelsea.

Following this speculation, Ladbrokes now believe it looks more likely Zidane will end up at Stamford Bridge over Old Trafford, in what would no doubt be an intriguing move.

Zinedine Zidane to Manchester United or Chelsea next?

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “He may have been heavily linked with Man United of late, but the latest odds suggest Zidane is Chelsea-bound.”

United’s managerial situation remains somewhat uncertain, however, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer performing well since coming in as interim boss, though he is still only currently set to remain in charge until the end of the season.
