Loads of Chelsea fans are reserving special praise for Timo Werner after his role in last night’s Champions League final victory over Manchester City.
Kai Havertz is the Blues’ hero after scoring the winning goal in Porto, which gave the west London giants their second European Cup, but Werner also had a decent game.
It’s not been an easy debut season for Werner at Stamford Bridge, with the Germany international struggling to score as many as he did at previous club RB Leipzig.

Chelsea fans will no doubt hope for more from him next term, but even now they’re pleased with the work rate he put in against City, and the pace and movement off the ball that he brings to the team.
If Werner can add a bit more composure in front of goal to his game next season he’ll surely end up being a great player for the club, and it seems he has the backing of this lot after a strong showing last night…
Werner was huge yesterday again irrespective of the erratic finishing but he ran and worked every single minute he was out there. Took Dias to no man's land with his run which created more space for Havertz to run into and score. Details some people don't rate.

That Werner run for the first goal is an underrated part of the goal

Ngl.. once again, Werner’s off ball movement basically creates that space for Kai to run onto.. underrated ?

Pretty underrated display from Werner. The finishing wasn't great to begin the game but he has worked relentlessly since then.
Pulisic should hopefully offer more of the same plus some dribbling threat.

Werner even though wasn't shooting well, his contribution is Underrated. Made those runs and was lethal in those runs and passed well. Wasn't too bad

Werner has wasted a lot of chances this season but his contribution to a goal deserves appreciation.

Days like today are happy times as a Chelsea fan – champions league winners!
I feel bad that Timo Werner didn’t score, but his work effort is amazing. Kante deserves a special place in history.
Turn around by Tuchel is such a short time has been extraordinary.

I'd take Werner over Tammy any day because that off the ball movement and work rate is second to none!!!
