Manchester United
Despite links with Matheus Nunes, I’m not aware of any advanced interest. Manchester United’s priority this summer is a striker, and concrete plans will become clearer after the club sale.
David de Gea wants to stay at Manchester United and a decision is really close. They are discussing the final clauses of the contract, but the feeling is very positive. United feel De Gea will be their goalkeeper next season, with talks going very well.
Napoli
Napoli director Giuntoli: “Honestly, we were never close to signing Cristiano Ronaldo — he was never a target for us despite links”.
Guintoli: “New deal for Kvaratskhelia? He has a long contract… we’re always in talks with agents, there will be the right time to speak about this”.
Real Betis
Real Betis legend Joaquin has announced his retirement from professional football at the end of current season.
The 41-year-old has enjoyed a superb career, with 839 appearances, 112 goals, and 102 assists.
Real Madrid
Understand Toni Kroos has already put pen to paper on a new short-term contract with Real Madrid — the new deal is signed, sealed, completed. The agreement is going to be valid until June 2024. Official statement pending as for Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior new contracts.
Roma
Roma feel they are favourites to sign Houssem Aouar. They have offered him a five year deal; Napoli have not made a concrete bid yet, as of now. Real Betis are also in the race, having approached the player a few weeks ago, while Eintracht Frankfurt have left the race. I know he’s been linked with clubs in England in the past, but I think Italy or Spain suit his style more than Premier League honestly.
Tottenham
Manuel Ugarte has been linked again with Tottenham – these links are always there; I think it’s one or two years of Ugarte and Spurs links because Tottenham scouts are always attentive to Portuguese market, as with the Pedro Porro deal. They are following lot of players there, but for Ugarte any negotiation will be later in the window and not now.
Daniel Levy: “Harry Kane can absolutely win a trophy at Spurs, but being a legend is also important. I hope one day there is a statue of Harry outside our stadium.”
