Mateo Kovacic is on the shortlist of Manchester United who are said to be very interested in securing a deal for him this summer.
This comes from Football Insider, who say that Kovacic could be on the move this summer with his contract up in 2024.
Plenty of Chelsea players are out of contract this summer or coming into the final year of their deals and with the club in no European competitions next season, there may be an opportunity for a few of the names in question to search for an exit.
FI revealed on Thursday that the Blues will demand at least £30million for their Croatian international this off-season and with there being no indication of talks over a contract extension, he will likely leave before the expiration of his deal so they don’t lose him on a free transfer next year.
Sky Sports reported in March that Manchester City also have one eye on Kovacic this summer, with them yet to enter talks with Ilkay Gundogan over a new deal, as he edges closer to a free transfer exit himself at the end of June.
