Alexander Isak is one player who has recently been linked to the Gunners, who have been looking for a new center-forward for a while.
Simon Collings has been talking about the possibility of Isak joining Arsenal on The Arsenal Beat Podcast. The Swedish attacker is rumored to be a target for the Gunners moving into the summer.
The former Real Sociedad striker has scored 10 goals in 17 Premier League matches this season, already matching his tally from last season.
The journalist states that he would definitely bring Isak to Arsenal and adds that since Arsenal have previously conducted extensive scouting on Isak in the past, a lot of preparation has been done for this possible transfer.
“For me, my pick is Alexander Isak of Newcastle. He’s someone Arsenal have looked at before. He can operate out wide, in the middle, he’s proven in the Premier League. I know that Newcastle have gone on the record to hint they need to sell a big player to comply with profit and sustainability rules. There’s been talk of Bruno Guimaraes going to PSG, but if I was Arsenal I’d try to tempt Newcastle with Isak and say if you need to raise some money we’ll take him off your hands. Given that Arsenal have already scouted him and know a lot about him, I think a lot of the groundwork has been done, so he would be my pick,” Collings said.
Isak’s profile perfectly fits what Mikel Arteta is looking for. The striker has pace, he’s tall and his finishing ability is highly impressive.
Reports have linked the Gunners with a move for Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen in the past few weeks. Arsenal are desperately looking for a striker to lead their line with both Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah not being prolific enough for the Premier League club.
