Jadon Sancho could make Man Utd exit permanent if he fulfills Dortmund request

Jadon Sancho could help Borussia Dortmund steal him away from Manchester United this summer.

Decision-makers at Signal Iduna Park, however, will require some assistance from the Red Devils loanee if he is to make his return permanent, with his current price-tag unaffordable.

“Jadon Sancho (23) is already a decisive factor at Dortmund after just a few weeks. When he wasn’t in the squad due to muscular problems against Heidenheim, there was a disappointing 0-0 draw,” Christian Falk reported in his exclusive Fact Files column with CaughtOffside.

“The Dortmund bosses are all the more hopeful of being able to keep Sancho beyond the loan until next season. But they need his help. Because United’s transfer expectations, which are said to be between £40-50m, are too high for Dortmund.

“The Dortmund bosses are therefore relying on Sancho to put United under pressure. According to the motto: If you want to sell me, then I’ll just go to Dortmund! Then BVB could definitely push Manchester down in price.

“The principle already worked with the loan, which was very cheap for Dortmund at €3-4m including salary. But there is also a problem: Sancho himself would also have to forego his salary.

“Unlike at United, he could only earn a maximum of €10m gross at BVB. In Manchester, he reportedly gets almost twice as much.”

The Englishman has been in superb form since his return to Germany, registering two assists in his opening three Bundesliga games.

A move that makes sense for all parties

Following a very public fallout with current United manager Erik ten Hag, it’s difficult to see how exactly the 23-year-old continues his spell in Manchester.

Sancho’s best years have undoubtedly come in the famous yellow and black shirt of the North Rhine-Westphalia region.

His final season in the German top-flight yielded 36 goal contributions in 38 games (across all competitions).

In the following 82 outings for Manchester United, the former BVB man has provided only 18 goal contributions.

One might venture that it would suit all parties involved to see Sancho remain with Marco Rose’s side beyond the current campaign.
