Juventus to offer €18m-€20m for 28-year-old to end Arsenal hell

Parallels can be drawn between both Juventus and Arsenal at this point of the 2023/24 campaign, with both clubs looking to haul themselves back to the promised land of winning league titles.

The Gunners will have waited 20 years by the end of this season to break that duck, whilst the Bianconeri haven’t earned a Scudetto for the last three seasons but did win the previous nine Serie A titles.

Arsenal currently find themselves in third, just two points behind Premier League leaders, Liverpool, and Juve are in second place in the Italian top-flight and four points behind Inter at the summit.

Whether either go on to win their respective leagues this season is unlikely to change the fact that Italy’s ‘Old Lady’ are preparing to end the hell that one Arsenal player has experienced since signing on at the Emirates Stadium.

Thomas Partey has never really recaptured the form that saw the Gunners sign him from Atletico Madrid in the first place, and it’ll surely be a relief all round if the news being reported by Fichajes comes to pass.

The outlet suggest that Juve will offer somewhere between €18m-€20m for the 30-year-old’s services, and given how unlikely it is that Partey will resurrect his career in North London, it seems almost certain that he’ll be wearing the black and white stripes from next season.

  1. Who told you that Thomas Partey has not recaptured the form he brought from Atletico Madrid? Arteta’s inability to rotate squad is our biggest problem. This is one thing he did not learn very well from his boss, Guardiola. Partey still remain the king of our defensive midfield and still has at least 2 or 3 more years to play on the High level. That you bought Rice does not mean you’ll push him out. What of the scenario Rice will be injured for a month or more? The same thing happened last season when we lost Saliba to injury. Arsenal lack of depth in squad is not as a result of lack of money, but Arteta’s poor rotational system. Xhaka left because of the news of Rice and Havertz, fully knowing his boss doesn’t rotate. We need both Rice and Partey at Arsenal. All those injury news on Partey are false. Arteta failed to device how to rotate him with Rice from the beginning. If you take note, you’ll discover that Partey was pushed to right full back with White pairing Saliba that made Magalhaes to threaten to leave. Foden played 51 games at City last season, starting just 29 of them. But if our own Saka is to play 51 games, he’ll start 50 of them! How will his good deputy on the bench be happy? Its exactly the same scenario we have with Partey and Rice now.

  2. I agree with Amos regarding the ‘recapturing’ of Thomas’ form. That’s a very ill-considered remark when acknowledging his performances when fit. I note several high profile games where he ‘bossed’ the midfield with consummate ease. However I feel the concern remains that he is unfortunately ‘brittle’ and sadly I do not think his physique can be relied upon even from the bench. It may therefore unfortunately be time to sell.
