Manchester United are keen on improving their defensive options during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are keeping tabs on several defenders and a report from Daily Mail claims that Manchester United are currently keeping in contact over Benfica’s Antonio Silva regarding a potential move.
The 20-year-old central defender is one of the finest young talents in European football and he has the attributes to develop into a world-class defender. He could prove to be an exceptional long-term investment for the Red Devils and the ideal replacement for players like Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire. Both players have been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent months.
Meanwhile, Jonny Evans is already 36 and he will need to be replaced. Signing more than one central defender should be a priority for Manchester United in the summer.
