Newcastle United are going through financial limitations right now and they might need to sell a key player in the summer in order to balance the books.
While they are one of the richest clubs in the world, they will have to comply with the financial fair play restrictions. They have spent freely since the takeover and Newcastle will have to generate more revenue now.
Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer was recently asked whether he would get rid of Bruno Guimaraes or Alexander Isak if the Magpies had to sell one of them.
Shearer has revealed that he would hold onto the Brazilian midfielder because Bruno Guimaraes has settled in at the club and the city. In addition to that, he believes that Guimaraes understands the club and the fanbase. The people of Newcastle have taken to him as well.
Therefore, Shearer would prefer if the club sanctioned the departure of Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker has been quite impressive since he moved to the Premier League as well and it will be interesting to see who is sacrificed in the end.
“Bruno gets the people and the people get him, that’s why he’s got such a good relationship. They see him as one of their own and that’s why they love him, so I wouldn’t want to see Bruno sold he’s a really top player. So it would have to be Isak.”
