Manchester United are keen on signing the Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong.
According to a report from Rudy Galetti via Fichajes, the 23-year-old is on their radar as a potential replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who could leave in the summer.
Wan-Bissaka could be sold in the summer and Frimpong would be a quality alternative. He has been in outstanding form for the Bundesliga club this season, scoring 9 goals and picking up 10 assists across all competitions.
The Dutch international is certainly better than Wan-Bissaka going forward and he could add a new dimension to the Manchester United attack, apart from his defensive qualities.
Manchester United need to sign a complete full-back who will contribute at both ends of the pitch. The 23-year-old seems like the ideal fit for them.
Frimpong could be tempted to join Manchester United
The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive option for the player as well. It will be a major step up for him and he will look to prove his qualities at the highest level.
The defender is still quite young and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. Erik ten Hag could help him develop further and fulfil his potential.
Frimpong has a contract with the German club until the summer of 2028 and he is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition. Bayer Leverkusen are under no pressure to sell the player and it is fair to assume that they will demand a premium for him. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are willing to break the bank for the defender.
