The bad news and publicity just keeps on coming for Chelsea Football Club.

Ever since Todd Boehly took over at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have been in the headlines for one reason or another.

Given their current position in the Premier League and the fact that Mauricio Pochettino can rarely get a tune out of his side, the less that they are writing the script for journalists, the better.

Chelsea Women’s star Sam Kerr’s alleged racial insult revealed

Unfortunately for them, it’s the women’s team that have the Blues back on the front rather than back pages.

Back in 2023, Chelsea Women’s star player, Sam Kerr, was alleged to have racially abused a policeman, and The Guardian (h/t Yahoo Sports) have published the slur that the Australian is said to have directed the policeman’s way.

Chelsea Women’s Sam Kerr will go to court to answer charges of alleged racism.

The incident apparently came about after a dispute over a taxi fare, and although the matter is now going to court, it won’t be until 2025 before any evidence in the case is heard.

Outgoing Chelsea Women’s coach, Emma Hayes, has thrown her support behind the striker, suggesting that she and the club will back their player 100 percent through her ordeal.

Further, it’s believed that Kerr’s own legal team are hopeful of getting the charge downgraded or dismissed.
