Tottenham interested in German winger with Bayern Munich ready to sell

Tottenham are reportedly showing ‘concrete’ interest in signing Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich this summer.

Gnabry previously played for Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal and was on their books from 2011-2016.

The 28-year-old struggled to make an impact in English football but immediately hit the ground running on his return to Germany at Werder Bremen.

Gnabry to join Tottenham this summer?

The German international earned himself a move to Bayern Munich after just one season back in Germany, and currently has 86 goals and 52 assists in 235 appearances for the Bavarians.

However, the former Arsenal man’s influence in the Bayern first team has waned this season, in part due to injuries and also because Thomas Tuchel has preferred Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala in the wide areas.

Spurs are believed to be interested in signing Gnabry this summer.

Gnabry also faces competition for minutes from Kingsley Coman and according to Football Insider Bayern are open to selling the versatile forward at the end of the season.

Spurs are reportedly keen on the forward and his ability to play multiple positions is highlighted as a big plus for manager Ange Postecoglou.

Gnabry can feature on either wing or up front if required and any potential move for him could spell the end of Timo Werner’s chances of joining Spurs on a permanent basis.

Werner is currently on loan from RB Leipzig and the north London club do have an option to make the move permanent for roughly £15m.

The German isn’t the only player Spurs are believed to be interested in and they have also been linked with Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, so any move for Gnabry may depend on if Tottenham sign the former Wolves man.

Spurs are currently in a race with Aston Villa to qualify for the Champions League and are three points behind Unai Emery’s side with a game in hand.
