England manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted that his players have been talking about the huge story involving Manchester City at the moment.

News broke last week of Man City being found guilty of the vast majority of the 115 charges against them for breaking the Premier League’s financial rules.

Since then, the footballing world has been rocked by the news and it’s been hard to focus on much else, with Tuchel acknowledging that his players have been discussing the story.

The German tactician didn’t want to weigh in with his own views too much as he suggested he doesn’t know enough about it, but it seems it’s been a big topic of conversation in the England camp…

Thomas Tuchel on the Manchester City saga

“We had some time off and time between the matches and it is a big subject. Everyone speaks about it so there is no other voice needed. I am glad to not be that voice. Nobody needs my half knowledge on it. The players are ready to go tomorrow. It’s what they show on the pitch and they show in camp. Its a big topic in camp,” Tuchel said, as quoted by BBC journalist Alex Howell.

There are, of course, a few City players in the England squad at the moment, such as Elliot Anderson and Marc Guehi, though Nico O’Reilly has left the camp with an injury problem.

England play Croatia in tomorrow’s Nations League clash, while MCFC will be back in Premier League action next Sunday to take on Liverpool at Anfield.

It will be interesting to see how City’s players perform while there’s such a major off-the-pitch distraction going on.
