Does anyone actually want Chelsea job?
by stresster on June 5th, 2008Two candidates down, plenty to go for the west London club, after Luciano Spalletti has decided to stick with Roma instead of taking charge at the madhouse that is Stamford Bridge. The Daily Mirror reports that the Italian has rejected the opportunity to replace Avram Grant, days after Carlo Ancelotti also shunned Kenyon & Co in order to stick with Milan.
What is it about working in a pressure-cooker environment under the watchful eye of an impatient ruthless Russian oligarch that seems to put managers off? Plus working with Kenyon to grow the brand must be a really pleasant experience too.
Chelsea’s managerial search lurched further into chaos last night as Roma boss Luciano Spalletti became the latest man to turn his back on the job.
While bookmakers offer odds on who will be next Chelsea manager, maybe a more pertinent market would be to have prices about which man will reject the Champions League runners-up instead!

managers arnt going to take a job they know is insecure……. no matter how much money they have to spend…….
chelseas treatment of grant and ranieri was discusting, and NO manger will go to a club where he is likely to be treated like that in my opinion

It really frightens me that so many people write blog peices like this! No wonder we end up being converned by con artists when people like you are allowed to vote.
You are seriously suggesting that most football managers don’t want to manage Chelsea because it’s a madhouse. Eh other clubs have had up to 5 managers in one season! So you are a football manager ( used to being hired and fired) you take the Chelsea job and get fired after 8 months and are given £5 to £12 million to clear off…..Who on earth could put up with that kind of treatment, disgusting aweful outragous…..
YOU ARE A MUG…….
ps I’m a Spurs fan so not defending them, it’s just really stupid articles like this that annoy me.

Get rid of the bad apple

No one wants to be fired in less than a year. Too much pressur certainly what i like even though i am just starting my carrer.

This is a ridiculous article and pointless! Pete’s right, you are a mug! I, for one, would love the job. I ‘d settle for a fraction of the money too.
FabregasISGod - June 5th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
indeed, you wouldnt take a job if you knew there was chance you would be sacked in less than a year over your current job where you are wanted and under no pressure……….

Oh and Fabregas is not God he’s a little weasel with short-man syndrome. That’s why he’s got such a big mouth.

FabregasisGod - You mention the treatment of Ranieri and Grant but not Mourinho, I wonder why. Could it be that you were happy with either Ranieri or Grant at Chelsea but were relieved to see the back of Mourinho? Oh, and by-the-way, “discusting” is actually spelt with a “g” - and, as a further help, that’s not “giscusting”…
RayParlourforPresident - June 5th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
who cares about Chelsea anyway - and who honestly feels sorry for Grant bearing in mind the amount of money has walked away with for taking a job from which his sacking was being predicted the moment he entered the stadium.
I agree this is a pointless article though, all it really says is that who wants a job that will not last very long but they will get a huge payout at the end so long as you say yes to Abramovich.
I couldn’t be less interested in who takes the Chelsea job, they are the most uninspiring team I have ever watched and no amount of money is going to make that change whilst Abramovich is running the show
then again without Abramovich they wouldn’t have any money, bit of a vicious circle.
And Fabregas is as close to God as footballers get.
Much closer than the immoral, “only in it for the money” paycheck players at “the Bridge”

nope nothing to do with being glad to see the back of josé, i just dont know enough about what happened with josé to be able to have an informed opinion
as for the typo norman, if all you can do is point out typos, i suggest you find yourself a woman mate, or is it that you already have one but are incapable of woo-ing said strumpet…… your not a eunoch are you?

it is hard to beleave that anyone would think that chelsea is hard on there managers. they have changed them every 3 years ever since they have been in the premier league so they have always had 3 managers in 3 years. wow
and grant is not a top manager so they will probable save money by giving him 5m and spending less to get better players wich is all chelsea want.
