With Didier Drogba and Emmanuel Adebayor looking likely to leave their respective clubs this summer, it’s little wonder that Arsenal and Chelsea are making several contingency plans. Both teams would look woefully short of firepower if indeed they sell their respective hotshots, and the Daily Mail report that they’re now both in the hunt for the same player.
Samuel Eto’o is a name that’s cropped up in the newspapers several times already this summer, and his Cameroon coach has revealed that the Gunners and Blues are two of three clubs courting the striker. Will he join former team-mate Deco at Stamford Bridge or choose to play for the best footballing team in the Premier League instead?
Pfister said: ‘I do not know why Barca want to let him go. It’s incomprehensible!
‘[But he’s not on the streets?] No, no. He is the best striker in the world and can choose between Chelsea, Arsenal and Inter.’
Ah yes, the third option, playing in Milan for Jose Mourinho, who reportedly wanted to sign the Cameroonian when the former was managing in London. Could he throw a spanner in the works as far as the English clubs are concerned and leave them to go after other targets?

This deal’s never gonna happen…. eto’o is a great striker and he wud be a perfect fit for arsenal… but chelsea have the buying power…
besides eto’o actually charges more than adebayor’s askin wage per week… so wont it be foolish to sell adebayor who charges less (although its 400% more than what he’s gettin n 600% more than what he deserves) n gettin eto’o in who charges more… it’ll go against the arsenal standard wage structure… so according to me this deal ain’t happening…
Get this straight guys….
The chances of nacer barazite gettin a promotion from the reserves into the first team next season is better than our chances of signing eto’o…

if ade wants to go 2 barca ad etoo leavin barca den y dont we just do a straight swap plus money. Then we will have him nasri and ramsey and eduardo coming back and Veluso COULD come so that should win us the premier league or at least the fa cup

So rosicky plays holding midfielder, we spend 20 million on Veloso and leave him on the subs bench, and gallas isn’t even a sub. Phenomenal tactical insight, I vote you replace Arsene at the first available opportunity.
