Manchester United ready to make £9m bid for IMPRESSIVE young full back: Sir Alex is a fan!
by Mr Comfort on October 13th, 2008Sir Alex has a pretty good record when it comes to clever purchases of players who are not exactly household names, and apparently he is lining up another such bid for this West Brom man!
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly impressed by West Brom’s Dutch defender Gianni Zuiverloon
West Bromwich Albion spashed out £3.2million to take Dutch starlet Gianni Zuiverloon from Heerenveen this summer.According to reports, Sir Alex Ferguson is a big admirer of the 21-year-old and will follow his progress at the Hawthorns before making a big-money bid should he impress in a Baggies shirt. (goal.com)
Dutch Under-21 international Zuiverloon is a right-back with a great deal of potential, and it’s easy to see why Sir Alex is sniffing around the Hawthorns with a view to a bid for the £9m-rated youngster. With Gary Neville nearing an end to a glittering career, there will be loads of players viewed as a possible replacement, but it is important to remember that Wes Brown has more than capably deputised in the right-back position. Unless he is moved over to a centre back role (which is apparently what he wants), a move that is unlikely to happen given the fantastic Rio and Nemanja partnership, Brown may well be the next to take Neville’s place on a regular basis.
Either way though, a move for the Baggies man would be a very clever move indeed, as he is one for the future and could well be a wise acquisition. Do Manchester United fans think that Wes Brown can effectively replace Gary Neville in the long run, or should Sir Alex buy someone to fill the role?

Gosh, I’m tired of having foreigners. United will be like Arsenal soon if they don’t watch it

somehow this doesnt seem right, we have englands number one, Wes Brown who is coming into the peak of his career. If Raphael’s displays are anything to go off then we already have an outstanding talent waiting in the wings, plus we have Danny Simpson who although not amazing is solid as cover. Would be a waste of money in my opinion.

I think its a waste of money. We’ve got Rafeal who is more than a right back & Brown. So try settle Tevez first thats what we want.
