Liverpool look set to sign £8m WINGER in January: A player with a bright future

Rafa seems to have set his heart on snaring this Polish international, even though the asking price just doubled!

Liverpool Football Club have been told to fork out £8million for Jakub Blaszczykowski.

Rafael Benitez is keen to add the 22-year-old Polish international winger to his squad in the New Year, as he looks to make that final push for the Premier League title.

The Spaniard had hoped to land Blaszczykowski for around £4million, but his club Borussia Dortmund have told the Reds the player would command a fee twice this amount.

If the title is still a realistic aim for the Anfield club when the January window opens, Benitez is believed to be confident his board will release the funds to strike a deal. (fansfc.com)

Blaszczykowski appears to have responded well to the renewed speculation, as he has been in top form for Dortmund in the Bundesliga this season. The 22-year-old right-sided player was said to have been the subject of one failed £5m bid already, and if the German club has set a new valuation on ‘Kuba’, then clearly this implies they are ready to sell.

He could be the kind of signing that helps as the club hopes to push on many fronts and, whilst the Pole may initially be more of a squad player, he has the makings of a pretty clever addition. Are Liverpool fans worried that recent injuries could seriously damage their title chase, or do they have enough strength in depth to cope with the loss of the likes of Skrtel?
