Spurs FLOP makes his excuses: Anyone believe him?
by Mr Comfort on October 23rd, 2008This Tottenham man arrived with a fanfare, but has turned out to be a bit of a damp squib and has now revealed all about the reasons for the club’s poor start to the season.

David Bentley has issued a damning verdict on Tottenham’s awful start to the season, claiming the players have not known what they are supposed to be doing.
Spurs tonight visit Udinese, lying second in Italy’s Serie A, in their first UEFA Cup group game. And given Bentley’s view, the portents are not good.
Speaking to talkSPORT magazine, he said: ‘It’s been shocking. It’s been difficult, especially for me. I wasn’t enjoying it. We’ve not been together; we didn’t know where people were running, what people were doing. But I think we’re slowly starting to get settled.’ (Daily Mail)
Is it just me or does that sound like a thinly-veiled attack at the tactics handed down by Juande Ramos? Or is it just that he is emphasizing that it takes a while for new additions to gel together? Either way, it neatly skirts around the issue of players seemingly not giving a damn, and not being up for the fight. Hopefully Spurs will get something from their trip to Italy tonight, but it won’t be easy, although it could serve as respite from the Premier League mess.
Do Tottenham fans think that Bentley is neatly side-stepping the issue by appearing to blame his manager for the club’s shocking start?

I for one think he is spot on, its clear that Ramos doesnt know what he is doing. All all have seen players not cut it in the Prem, why is that any different for Managers. He was good in Spain, but his record in Engalnd is awful, sorry it is. You cant say that he doesnt have the players as he does yes, we had better players when he took over, but HE sold half of the ones that left.
We have a group of players that should be around tenth to be honest, not bottom and that is down to Ramos as his tactics. 451 isnt a formation that works…. well not for us. Yet he cant stop playing it, its shocking that he still has a job.
Bentley is a Tottenham Lad and wants to do well for the club, that he and we love. Ramos is just doing his job for the money and he isnt doing a good job. The players do look like they have no idea what he wants them to do. Everyone knows we need a leader but what idiot made Jenas Captain. I the clear choice was Woodie.
Lets stop making excuseing for him and get him out of the club so real changes can be made….. bring in Keane, Pearce, Hughes, Brown or even El Tel until the end of the season. We need a change so much i would even be happy to see Big Sam at the Lane, as we will be relegated if Ramos stays in charge for much longer.

bring back Hoddle & Waddle!

Fair play to him for being honest. It’s about time someone admitted that we’ve been shit this season. I’ve said before, nobody seems to know who is responsible for what in this 4-5-1 formation.

top man bently, no-one has got a clue what they are doing on the pitch, there is no movement and no direction, players playing out of position, totally unbalanced formations, shit subtitutions and tacktics! were going down, were officially shit!!

The man has to go, he has had more than enough time to get to grips with the prem. Our record is disgraceful he just stands and does nothing, commands no respect, managers like fergie, cloughie in his day, keano, they command respect and players work their butts off. I know we have had probs at director level but this man is getting outdone by younger less experienced guys who know how to react to situations.
Harry at pompy identified there bad start and put it right, our man is a hyped up twat.

typical spuds
instead of crying like a bunch of know it all b@tches
you should concern yourselves with your moronic, pathetically arrogant behavior you graced us all with after your trouncing of ROMA
Remember? You were all “top 4 guarantee ohh ….with talk of a possible double” and know you are seeing what the rest of us saw, the whole time
IGNORANCE is not bliss
You Sucked then and finally you see it
too bad you had that c@nty display
cause now we all get to laff 2 as hard at ya and it probably hurts that much more that 77 million cannot even help
thats so f@ckin funny
Ramos - October 23rd, 2008 at 9:26 pm
what are you talking about. Ramos is the best thing for spurs. How the hell can Bently say this crap. Firstly no respect for manager. who no matter how bad he is … he is our leader and club. so this kid should go!! no respect. what has he done to be allowed to talk. Has won nothing… being an international you should know how to play Football and all its basics tactics, any extra roles said by the coach… if nothing said just play. Plus are we forgetting He got off loaded from our rivals. if he aint good enough for Arsenal what makes him good enough for spurs.
What the players need is to calm down. We dont need to worry about scoring yet. the whole world knows we have no strikers… plug up the gaps and dont concede… then the chances will come.
We got one of the most creative mids in the league… dos santos, modric, lenon…. these players need space… as the game progresses the spaces will come….. Just save money and find striker. cause if we are waiting for bent to save the day… we got another thing coming…
Hey why dont we give Ronaldo a trial. Its perfect… he wants to show the world he still got it…. all we need is a reknown stiker….. plus he is eligible for uefa cup… and FREE!!!! Hey TOTENHAM NEED ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET!!!!
Chris Hart - October 23rd, 2008 at 9:43 pm
Because Ramos, Ronaldo is a fat fool. His wage demands would be stupid and he would see it as a pay day. He is not going to care whether we get relegated or not and we need players with fight not over the hill has beens.
Dr Shampumple - October 24th, 2008 at 6:30 am
Ramos, you and your name sake are stupid…….Ramos has taken a top eight tem and taken it apart. We need players like TANIO and MAL but Ramos deemed them not god enough and thats the problem. The guy doesnt have a clue what he is doing and we all know it, even if some wont admit it.
Just watch the game against Udin, Jenas ran around but didnt look like he know his role, neither did Zork. OHara didnt know wheteher to play in the middle or down the left half the time and we still play a 451.
Bale was having a shocker with deadballs and Ramos needed to give him a break and take him off them. Im pretty sure Modric could of easierly tok them as he’s no use in the air now is he.
Lets face it lads we are down unless he gets the boot, as his tactics are wrong, the players arent playing for him and the worst thing is, he doesnt even see it. Please Levy get rid of this waste of money and bring in someone with fire in there belly.
Ramos - October 24th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
typical supporter. where were you last year when he won the mere league cup… people always said he is our saviour! Look the simple solution is we need tough guy on the tam not all pretty boys. Caus ethey is only 8 games a year you play good football the rest is a grind….. so we need some players who can grind it… I would say the only bad sale has been malbranque! he could turn a game…. but the rest totally fine. You watch… all we need striker and problems will disappear. Its d-day against bolton
Dr Shampumple - October 24th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
D-day has come a gone, we will have to do better from now until the end of the season than we did in the year we finish 5th. Ramos has a record now of 21 league matches and only three wins, anyone with that record would be fired. Ramos has the players but he doesnt have there hearts, nor does he have the brains to get us out of the situ we are in. If I am a typical fan you are a typical ostrich, get your head out of the ground and smell the shit that Ramos is.
