“We don’t want Manchester United players in our squad” claims Arsenal man

Arsenal supporters didn’t expect the team to have dropped so many league points already, and it could be another three points by Saturday afternoon. Both Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin Van Persie will miss the clash with Manchester United, while the defence let in four goals last time they played a league match at the Emirates.

Despite all not being well with the Gunners, Emmanuel Adebayor has refuted the suggestion that the team would benefit from having the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand involved. The injured Togolese striker claims that he’s happy with the current squad, with Football365 reporting that ‘everybody is playing well’.

Adebayor will miss the game with an ankle injury, but when asked which United players he’d like to see in the Arsenal squad, he told talkSPORT: “No one. We’ve a great team with great players and they have great players as well.

“So I don’t think I would like to have any Manchester players playing for us because we have great team and everybody is playing well. We are happy with our squad.”

Adebayor knows exactly what to expect from United on Saturday, adding: “They are a great team with great players so you can imagine that the atmosphere will be very good.

“On the pitch it’s always a fair game. You’re playing against players who really know what the meaning of football is so it’s going to be a great game.”

Arsenal supporters, surely if you had the chance to draft in a couple of Manchester United players, you would grab it with both hands? It wouldn’t have to be Cristiano Ronaldo, perhaps a Darren Fletcher or John O’Shea would make a marked difference to the team? Will the Gunners get anything out of Saturday’s match?
